December 31, 2020 was the dawn of a new day for notaries in Colorado. Colorado General Assembly but into law, SB20-096 Remote Notaries Protect Privacy. The bill can be read in entirety.
The Bill requires notaries to have an active commission, to take a course that can be taken online and pass an exam. After which, notarized paperwork needs to be uploaded to the Secretary of States notary portal and a service vendor selected. As of the date of this post, there are 3 vendor providers for notaries to select from to provide the online services, record and save the transactions.
